Dr. Mieke van der Bijl-Brouwer
Mieke is a designer, teacher and researcher from the Netherlands with a particular interest and expertise in human-centred design, systems thinking and public sector innovation. She loves working with people who want to make a difference and is passionate about empowering young people to become future change makers in her work as teacher and coordinator in UTS’ transdisciplinary Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation. Mieke holds a Master of Science in Design and a PhD in User Centred Design.
Lucy is an experienced illustrator and designer with extensive experience in the application of design and innovation methodologies to address complex crime and social problems in a range of areas, including detention environments and systems, mental health and community safety. Lucy is passionate about visual communications, and storytelling, and about the potential for art and design to help people to thrive in their environment.
